The Washington Post buys the hype on artificial rose containers being used as crack pipes, sloughing to the depths of breathless local news investigators.

Outraged community activists are, of course, calling for a ban on the roses. It’s a glass tube, folks. Think crack smokers won’t move to something else sold in cheap glass tubes? Should we ban cheap glass tubes, too? Perhaps we should move them behind the counter, and require a signature to get them.

Asinine drug war hysteria at its finest.
