Welcome to “Ketchikan International Airport”
Wednesday, October 26th, 2005
While doing some other research, I stumbled onto this photo of the Ketchikan airport on Gravina Island. It’s the airport Don Young, and Sens. Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski often cite when arguing why we need a $250 million bridge connecting Ketchikan to Gravina. They sometimes refer to it by its official name, “Ketchikan International Airport.” It serves about 360 people per day. Currently, residents of Ketchikian and tourists ferry to the airport. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes, including wait time.
