Uncivil Society: Miles Brand and the NCAA
Wednesday, September 14th, 2005Many colleges and universities across the country have generously opened up space for students impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. NCAA president Miles Brand, though, has decided that Division I football and basketball players tranferring out of schools impacted in the Gulf Coast region will have have to wait the customary year to take part in their respective sports. Why? To prevent “athletic looting,” he says.
