Lowering the Bar Some

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

Before I launch into a more formal post I thought I might start by saying that I’m psyched to be spending some time here at my favorite. blog. ever. and, I believe, the first blog at which I ever left a moronic comment. (Remember when there were comments here?)

I’m also extremely grateful for Radley’s kind words (don’t be lazy, I’m not giving you a link; scroll down four posts), though I vehemently denounce any claim that I am the “brains” behind anything. I mention this by way of offering thanks to fellow To the People bloggers Nikos Leverenz (my only colleague there not to post under a pseudonym), Cicero, Minerva, and Webshiksa.

I’ll stop here, else this post might earn the rightful scorn of Dana Milbank at the Washington Post for being so sentimental as to induce a (sniffle sniffle) flurry of Coburnic lachrymosity and, worse, digress further into a self-referential I-me-my-fest reminiscent of Chuck Schumer. Plus, like Sen. Coburn, I have a crossword puzzle to get back to.
