As far as helping out goes, this would seem to me to be one of the most practical and beneficial ways to do it, particularly if you live in one of the surrounding states.

Taking a stranger into your home is probably ill-advised. But ifyou’re a landlord or in real estate, and can offer up vacancies for short-term housing for refugees, I’d think that would be a far more direct way to help than giving cash.
