The New Heroin
Monday, August 22nd, 2005The Chicago Tribune runs an obscenely long three-part series suggesting that the new heroin might be the Oreo cookie.
Kraft has been frustratingly squisky in the obesity debate, abandoning personal responsibility principles in favor of admitting to being a big part of the problem, apparently under the assumption that doing so will make them a less likely target of obesity lawsuits — or at least might make them the one of the last targets.
It hasn’t worked. Kraft has been hammered by the public health activists. And their efforts earned their icon Oreo a front-page shellacking in the Tribune.
