I just taped a pretty hostile interview with a CNN reporter on the Post piece. One of his questions: “Don’t you think most of Middle America will think you’re some kind of nut?”

Um…no? The email responses I’ve gotten have been split pretty evenly between support and derision. I have noticed that the supportive emails have tended to come from self-described parents, while the derisive ones have come from Washington-based advocates, or folks with .gov at the end of their email addresses. Not down the line, but generally.

The producer assured me that the reporter just trying to be provocative, and that he’ll be just as tough on the MADD rep he’s interviewing next. But the fact that he continued to argue with me after the interview was over doesn’t inspire much confidence.

I’m taping a Fox News interview in about an hour. The CNN piece will air tomorrow. Not sure about Fox.
