Louisiana continues to crack down on OxyContin scripts.
The article mentions one reason for the crackdown is because prescriptions for the drug have dramatically increased over the last few years.
So what? In a country where at least 10 million people suffer from untreated, chronic pain, we should want more scripts for drugs with proven success, like OxyContin.
That DEA and state law enforcement officials measure their success fighiting illegal OxyContin by counting the number of legal prescriptions reveals at whom this anti-opioid campaign is really aimed.
