Soviet Chic

Monday, June 6th, 2005

Much as I’d like to take credit, this commie web mag is wrong to say that my letter to Target triggered the company’s recall of Soviet-themed t-shirts. As noted in a subsequent post featuring a letter from Target to one of its shareholders, the shirts were recalled because they weren’t selling — to my mind an even more gratifying reason they’re no longer on the shelves. Communism doesn’t sell in a free market? Whodda’ thunk it?

The author might also want to brush up on the definition of “censor.”

And while I’m answering critics of that letter, this guy might want to note that I’m cool with gay marriage, though I’m not sure how that’s pertinent to the issue at hand.

Gays, by the way, didn’t fare so well in the former Soviet Union.
