Let me be as diplomatic as possible. Let me say to the venerable “Sportsguy” Bill Simmons, who predicted no less than three times on pixels of ESPN Page 2 that not only would the Celtics dismiss my beloved Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs, but that the series “won’t even be close,” and, if that weren’t enough, even took a three-paragraph aside on a column about another topic to gratuitiously argue the position that Reggie Miller is not a “superstar,” as defined by Bill Simmons, and, if that weren’t enough, had the audacity to blame the Pacers’ first two victories on the referees . . . let me say — again, diplomatically — after the Pacers won three games in Boston, the final and deciding game by 27 points last night, let me just say . . .

Eat it, pal.

Now, let’s hope the Detroit series is as colorful and competitive as it has the potential to be.
