Isn’t getting in a little bit of trouble part of a quality college experience?

Saturday, December 11th, 2004

Governor Bill Owens of Colorado wants to reward deserving young people who are “doing the right thing.”

The proposed Colorado Achievement Scholarships would require that students not drink, smoke, use drugs, or otherwise get in trouble. Still vague is how those requirements would be checked, and what other restrictions might apply.

“The rules aren’t written yet, but the idea is to behave well,”

Offiicials have not yet announced whether students would be allowed to eat Hardee’s Monster Thickburgers.
