Comments Registration

Saturday, September 4th, 2004

Okay, gang. We’re changing the comments system here.

Here’s how it’ll work. I’m using the TypeKey registration system, which is already integrated intot the Movable Type system.

All you have to do is go to TypeKey’s website, register, and you’re set. Registered commenters will automatically be approved. Comments from unregistered users will go to me for approval. I can’t promise I’ll have the time to give them lots of attention, so if you’re a regular here, your best bet is to register.

The new system I think will weed out trolls, make it easier for me to ban problem commenters, and will drastically cut down on comments spam.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

I’ll try to keep this post at the top of the page until early next week, so y’all know what’s going on.

UPDATE: Seems to be a little glitchy. Bear with me. Hope to have this worked out over the weekend.

I just registered. Just trying to see if it works.

Well, I think I registered, but it doesn’t appear to allow the posting. Perhaps this is the glitch that Radley mentioned…

It is your weblog, so go with it. The account generation thing was relatively painless.

    Update accomplished

For months now I’ve felt enslaved by comment spammers who have held this site hostage. It took the fun out
