Lights Out Guerilla Theater
Monday, August 2nd, 2004Very cool article in the NY Times about a roving outdoor guerilla theater in Southern California. Although he fellow’s anti-capitalism fervor spoils the mood a little.
Here’s the website.

hmm…
ya know.. lights out, guerrilla theatre makes much more sense than radio. Who expects those stupid socialist Rage Against My Allowance guys to make any sense though, really.
Santa Cruz is in northern CA just south of SF
I believe Radley’s lack of geographical knowledge also speaks to his lack of knowledge regarding other Southern Californian problems.
I can just see how the cops arrive to bust up one of these theaters.
The K-9 unit arrives (2 cops on bicycles with shivering French poodles tucked away in their ass-packs). The dogs angrily go after the extension cords and proceed to chew on them, while the officers investigate the scenes of the crime (yeah, bad pun). The shocked crowd disperses, goes home and tells the whole universe about ‘Last Night’ by blogging about it.
Ain’t life great?
;-)
Having lived in Santa Cruz for a bit, I can tell you that this is so . . . well, so Santa Cruz. Just another excuse to get together and smoke dope. In a town that needs no excuse to do that sort of thing, I applaud their creativity.
Neat idea.
