The Neutered President
Friday, July 30th, 2004Before leaving his Texas ranch for Washington on Thursday, the president and his wife taped an interview with Phillip McGraw, host of the television talk show “Dr. Phil.” A show spokesman said it would air sometime after Sept. 13.
Honestly…

Maybe he’s giving them sex advice. I’d love to see that!
No, actually I wouldn’t. I hate Dr. Phil.
Honestly what? Both candidates will appear on Oprah before the election, too. So what?
So it’s Bush and this is a Bush-bashing blog–get used to it. You’ll notice there hasn’t been a word about the anti-abortion protestors being stopped from getting within 10 blocks of Kerry’s house–or the fact that the portestors at Boston were in a wire pen under the railroad bridges.
i love how the right has coined such a nice piece of alliteration… “bush-bashing”. rolls off the tongue. funny how all the scathing underhanded double-speak tearing into kerry is never called “kerry-bashing”.
but of course “bush-bashing” is the all-purpose defense to deflect and ignore everything that’s “ungood, double plus.”
I don’t give a carp which candidate goes on Oprah or Dr. Phil. I think it’s stupid.
Period.
Dr. Phil and Oprah have stupid shows that cater to the emotionally and intellectually lowest common denominator. Anyone who goes on that show pretty much goes down on my respect-o-meter.
A. No one cares about my respect-o-meter
B. Catering to the lowest common denominator is what politicians do best.
Therefore, my response to this has nothing whatever to do with Bush- or Kerry-bashing. Rather, it has more to do with Phil- and Oprah-bashing.
Is that better?
No, it’s the harping on Bush thing. Gets old.
How about some more Dare info, those post I really dig (seriously)
Radley,
Honestly, quit bashing Bush. He’s such an easy target. Like picking on the retarded kid at school: not that hard to do, not really that funny, it may make you feel good for a little while, but it ain’t gonna make you seem smarter than him, because it’s already a closed case.
Besides, whoever gets elected, nothing will change.
Nothing matters. It really does. Quit pretending already.
I think you are confusing Oprah/Dr. Phil with Jerry Springer/Ricki Lake. Oprah and Dr. Phil are fantastically sucessful because they appeal to married middle-class women in their thirties and forties with children. Just because Nascar Dads are 2004′s Soccer Moms doesn’t mean the Soccer Moms went anywhere.
