Huh? (Part Two)
Monday, July 26th, 2004Another incoherent quote, this one from Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu:
“People don’t know that Louisiana is a Democratic state. We voted for Bill Clinton twice. All our statewide officials are Democrats. We believe in hard work. And we believe that the government should meet people half-way.”
Well which is it?

Every four years I remember why cheerleading should be left to the professionals.
That comment reminds me of the old saying, “Annoy a liberal: work hard and be happy.” Come on people, everyone knows that liberals hate hard work and taking responsibility for oneself.
Some of Clinton’s quotes:
“We Democrats want to build a world and an America of shared responsibilities and shared benefits.” Isn’t that called socialism?
“We think the role of government should be to give people the tools to create the conditions to make the most of their own lives. And we think everybody should have that chance.” Isn’t that a conservative motto? This has never been a Democratic mantra. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t believe that they kept calling America a “democratic country”, when in fact it is a representative republic.
Well, they never want to let the truth stand in the way of a good story.
I refuse to watch any part of the DNC. I admit to pausing for a moment (just a moment!) to eyeball John Cusack who did something or other on some CNN (or was it MSNBC?) talk show. The host was wearing a yellow jersey.
Eyeballing John cusack wasn’t exciting enough to make me stick around to hear what was going on.
Yeah, I should pay attention, yeah, I should know what’s going on. But it makes me so sick and frustrated, I don’t want to subject myself to it. I’m not voting for any Democrats this election, anyway. Watching their DNC would only cement that decision.
another befuddling quote from Clinton’s speech, “My friends, we are constantly being told that America is deeply divided.” Seriously now, who has been pounding the “division” down our throats? You have one guess, and it’s not anyone from the GOP.
In Clinton’s speech he spoke about how with the current administration Americans “are being left to fend for themselves.”
Exactly Willy. And that is just the way some of us like it. Leave me alone and let me fend for myself and I will be just fine.
Isn’t it hard work to talk out of both sides of your mouth? Try as I may, I just can’t do it.
Ditto, Chris.

“systematized logistical projection,” a phrase that can be dropped into
virtually any report with that ring of decisive, knowledgeable authority. “No
one will have the remotest idea of what you’re talking about,” says Broughton,
