Gimme a break Radley. Lurch and Pretty Boy have both said they are planning to do everything possible to make it difficult for free trade to happen “to keep American jobs here”. They are completely ‘protectionist’. Bush is far more free trade than either Kerry or Edwards.
If you want to keep your conscience clean about voting for 2 of the biggest liberals in the Senate, you should stick with the “it’ll cause gridlock” argument.
If you’re really concerned about keeping your conscience clean, how about voting for a candidate who actually supports free trade? *cough*Michael Badnarik*cough*
You know, Radley, I expected better out of you. Here, you have a President who puts tariffs on a few items to save an American industry. Granted it’s not the best solution but he isn’t using that much.
But you are saying to vote for Kerry… the very platform against a free world economy???
I always thought of myself as a Libertarian, but Badnarik has a ton of issues himself.

“Isn’t the best solution”? Try, “the worst”. Kerry is just as bad. The difference is that Bush is supposed to be a “conservative”. Republicans are supposed to support free trade. You halfway EXPECT a demmycrat to preach the “virtues” of protectionism. Just like Bush’s spending record. Whatever happened to “fiscal conservatism”? I’d EXPECT such spending and deficits out of Kerry, but from a supposed conservative?
Isn’t Bush also looking at putting tariffs on furniture from China? I guess I was asleep the day that it became the government’s job to guaruntee that a company makes a profit.
Does the President have power over the Commerce Department? If he does I would think that Bush would use a lighter hand than Kerry controlling tariffs.
On a lighter note did anyone read Shoe today? The politician had to raise taxes for two reasons. The first reason was for a new school bus so the kids would’nt have to walk. The second was for a school gym so the kids could get some excercise!
I’m pissed at Bush’s anti-free trade policies myself. But is Kerry going to be any better? You’ve got your head up your ass if you think so. This is the most liberal man in the senate, who rails against “Benedict Arnold CEO’s” and “tax cuts for the rich”. [It's very fitting that he has just picked an ambulance-chaser for his VP candidate]. Bush is the better choice of the two, and he’ll be getting my vote.

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Just when I thought the Bush administration got it together on trade with agreements with Morocco and Central American countries…

As many “issues” as you feel Badnarik may have, he’s still the best, by a country mile.

Radley, you’re going to put an asshole in office just because of shrimp?
Looks like they’re going out of their way to get the pro-Gay Marriage crowd too

This is the Kerry that’s too busy to be briefed on the terroist threat?
What is it you imagine you can do with a presidential ballot that will get you freer trade?
