Porn? Don’t these newly “liberated” Iraqis know that when Dub, and the rest of the talking head chickenhawks, mention a “free” Iraq, the freedom they’re referring to is actually the “freedom” to do as the tyrannical moral majority says? When Bush says he’s trying to bring ‘Democracy’ to Iraq, he means it. Democracy is, by definition, mob rule. Democracy, as Ben Franklin said, is two wolves and a sheep taking a majority vote on what’s for lunch. If the Iraqis need proof that “democracy” does not mean “the freedom to do as you wish, as long as it doesn’t harm or infring upon the rights of anyone else”, they need look no further than the good ol’ U S of A, where your wealth is stolen from you for not wearing a seatbelt.
A couple weeks ago, Hewitt Pate, Ashcroft’s deputy for antitrust, gave a speech in Europe where he referred to price-fixing as “evil.” This administration has a very wide definition of that term, and most of it applies to consensual acts that don’t involve any initiation of force. Such an outlook is generally a prerequisite step for establishing tyranny.
I agree with Wade. Let’s start the Porn for Oil program. Or we could call it the Crude Pumping Program. That way we could use the same name for both sides of the transaction.
Oh yeah. I love the Porn for Oil concept, as well as the moniker Crude Pumping. It definitely swings both ways. And unlike oil, porn is a renewable resource: they’re making more of it all the time.
I did my part to help already. When my friend was over in Iraq I sent his unit about $100 in magazing which I am sure they left behind as a parting gift.
Bruce, Ed Meese? Did you not know how to spell Janet Reno?
From personal experience, in Iraq in 2003, I came upon a group of several Iraqi men huddled in a tight circle around some curiosity. Upon closer inspection, I found that they were staring in awe at the photos in a Cosmo magazine explaining how to do a breast self-examination.
1. He knows what it means and he means it.
2. He knows what it means and he’s a prankster.
3. He doesn’t know and someone put him up to it.
4. He’s referring to something other than porno. Isn’t “porn” a Thai name or something?
That is freaking hysterical.

If you think Ashcroft is bad, I have 2 words for you: Edwin Meese.

If Ashcroft values Freedom….
If John Ashcroft values freedom, he would send this guy a Girls Gone Wild DVD….
I wouldn’t want to hold his poster when he’s done.

Seriously though Hezer, that’s freakin’ sweet. I’m going to have to order me one of those.
Ah, commercial exploitation at its finest.
Not that I could resist ordering one myself — kicks ass
