No you didn’t! Misread…
I love it. I especially like the jab at the end when he talks about the way some people write in e-mails. Replacing “you” with “u” is repulsive, especially when used in a work-related discussion. It makes the person look like an idiot.
It’s a great piece. I just hope he doesn’t go all Saffire on us.
I do, however, disagree with his assertion that the semicolon is “elegant.” It’s a punctuation solution in search of a problem. It’s also misused far more often than not.
I hate them.
Great stuff. I approve.
While I can certainly lament with Will (and Cat) the rise of so-called txt, can it not be said that even our language is subject to a market of its own? If txt were to usurp our current standards of written communication, can any here say, though personally opposed, that the replacement was unjust?

Didn’t read the article, by the way. . . wanted to read it, but didn’t want to register. What’s that cheat site that gives you fake ids and passwords for site registries?
Note, of course, that in many emails and posts and comments, I write as though I were speaking, so Proper Grammar doesn’t really apply. But still, I have my limits.
