Jacob Grier has penned a sorta’ satire piece on a new government anti-obesity initiative.

Problem is, he’s peppered it with actual quotes from actual government officials.

    The Onion did a piece somewhat similar to that some time ago as well. It was really funny, until it started being real. It’s so hard to understand the worldview that nannies come from. It just seems so incredibly arrogant to hire men with guns to rule someone else’s dietary choices. How can that ever be morally justified? It’s just downright embarrassing to live in the same nation as these folks.

    What are you talking about? We must pass a law to save us from ourselves. The government is a nice and good entity that is concerned with our well-being, not enlarge bearocrats’ fifedoms. Don’t you understand? The war on terror is a ruse to take our attention to the deadly foods we intake.
