I disagree with the comment that Texas has the best of the state flags.

It is clear that the Arizona flag is superior to all other state OR national flags.

I suppose I could quibble that the Canadian flag’s maple leaf is more stylized than is given credit for but A- is a good grade. The critiques of the two lowest scoring entries are hilarious and true.

I always considered the US flag to be a bit “busy,” but at least I can look at it for an extended period of time. The Greek flag, on the other hand, is more eyenumbing than eyewatering, and can’t handle more than a passing glimpse of it. Judging by his comment, that annoyance factor is why it rates higher than our flag. Sheesh.

I have to agree with him about writing on a flag, though.

Note that San Marino didn’t rate a “Graven Image” or a “Too Busy” . China gets “Too many stars” but Samoa doesn’t, even though they have the same number. And Venezuela with 7 doesn’t get a “Too many stars”, either. And you’d think that the “worst flag”, Brazil, would get that rating, too.

And why does Bahrain get “good colors” for red and white when all the other red and whites don’t? Why does Chad get a 65 (and “Bad Tricolor”) and Romania get 70 for identical flags?

OK, so it’s not universal. Basically though, why does Cuba get an “A” and Puerto Rico get a “B”, when they basically have the same flag with the colors reversed?

And why isn’t South Africa’s flag “Too Busy” or “Eyewatering”?
