Giving in again I finished college and came happily seeking this elusive employment and met with “Boy we’re certainly glad that you have finished college, but we are looking for someone that has completed their military obligation. In those days the government provided a compulsory two year job with the armed forces and a six year stint with the reserves.

I then sallyed forth completing a compelling invitation to the wilds of Korea among people that were decidely angry we had come bringing the joys of democracy and our Sears Roebuck catalogue.

Upon returning with all the eager anticipation of a recently relieved from active duty and began my service in the reserves.

I applied for this elusive job once more and was profoundly congratulated on being a college graduate and had completed my military obligation I was then asked, “How much experience have you had?”
