    He’s doing his job – stirring up shit and then coming to the rescue of ‘the people’, thus justifying his paycheck.
    ‘The people’ believe him (he is a politician after all) and re-elect him because he has demonstrated “Leadership” and “Courage”, “on challenging issues”, in “these difficult times”.

    I could bottle and sell my cynicism ;-)
