My opinion, then, is that I think of him as a miserable failure.

Now that I see Lew Rockwell also considers GWB a failure, then it must no longer be an opinion. It is now a documented fact.

C’mon, man – You’ve missed the point alltogether. All anyone has been saying is that whether or not GWB is a failure depends on perspective. Finding someone else who shares your opinion doesn’t make it a truth. All it does is prove that you aren’t alone in your opinion.

You see, if one is to call oneself a Republican, and if the person in particular is the President of the US, you would think that person would adhere to the principles that guide the overall philosophies of the party. Sure there will be some who are more intense about abortion or any other high octane social topic, but overall, our current administration can be seen as a failure in terms of GOP standards. So, as I said, it can be viewed as failure.

I am unsure why Clinton’s name is always invoked when we criticize Bush. (“Well Clinton did this….and Clinton didn’t do that….”) Sheesh. What is up with that? We all know Clinton screwed up in a lot of ways. We talk about that also. However, Bush promised us a few things. I think we reserve the right to grade him on the failure to deliver on those promises. In fact, it is our duty to do so.

Regarding the deaths of soldiers in Iraq, I will only say that I find it very sad. I never said the families were not notified. I am a veteran and now work as a DoD civilian. I find it completely unforgivable that our President has decided he must hide his war dead. These fine soldiers, airmen, marines, and seamen deserve their country’s recognition. Bush has made it political and therefore very cynical to hide the war dead. If it shows failure, he will have none of it.

I said he was a success in his kicking of his cocaine habit and alcoholism. I gave him credit for that. Try not twist my words too much.

The old, “Bush’s tax cuts were directed at the rich” has been refuted sufficiently here as well as countless other places, so I see no need to re-state it yet again.

If you don’t (or won’t) understand it by now, I imagine you never will. Some people think it is fair to disproportionately tax the rich in an attempt to support the poor, and others, including me, don’t.

I am employed by a rich man, and I work hard to make him even richer. It’s a strange phenomenon, but the more money he has, the more I seem to have. Go figure.

Regarding the “miserable failure” line…

What candidate has ever felt otherwise about the current President? Calling the president a “miserable failure”, and passing it off as Fact is standard procedure. THAT is why it is both tired and old.

Having an opinion about whether or not Bush is a “miserable failure” is fine. Just don’t try to spread an undefinable (universally) and therefore entirely subjective opinion as The Truth.

At least have some argument in your arguments.

Let’s see… Everyone got a tax cut, with a larger percentage cut going to those with smaller incomes. Further, the rebate checks were the same for everybody, making them disproportionately weighted again toward lower wage earners. Both, of course are in terms of percentage cuts, a concept which contemporary liberals refuse to grasp.

And you call ME disingenous? You guys ARE always good for a laugh.

(for the record, I am less than pleased with several key things Bush has done so far (i.e. steel tariffs, campaign finance reform, really BIG spending), but tax cuts are not one of them)
