Any thoughts on why the Objectivist meeting site guy/girl ratio is the way it is? Or more importantly, why it isn’t surprising?
I ask because I’ve been sitting here trying to think of a way to explain it myself, without saying, “because women are too narrowminded and emotional to understand or care about Objectivism.”
The flipside, I guess, could be that Objectivist guys are too busy studying their Objectivist literature to bother going out and finding dates? Something like that?

to me it seems you’re half right. They’re too emotional. Don’t really think it has anything to do with being narrow minded. Although i guess emotions can cause one to be narrow minded. In all honesty, its a question that’ll never be figured out. Bottom line is they’re WOMEN. No earthly man has any chance of ever figuring them out.
How about hooking up the objectivists with the badonkadate people, what would their kids look like?

Unfortunately, it hasn’t died. The funniest thing is if you run into one of the fundamentalist objectivists who, for example, will argue the quantum mechanics can’t be true since is contradicts something Rand wrote.

Well, I am too much of a productive genius to have time for things like dating.
I had very positive experiences with match.com, to the point where I am currently engaged to someone I met through that service. I don’t know what the pool of women looks like now, but 2 years ago it was quite large in the NY metro area (and I highlight women, because the Internet is still disproportionately male oriented). I would highly recommend this service to single people in urban areas looking for a relationship, whether casual or committed.

Objectivism, FORTUNATELY, is not dead, it is very much alive. I have no idea why the man/woman ratio is the way it is on the dating site. It has been my experience that the ratio in real life is a little more equal.
Fundamentalist Objectivist is redundant. Objectivism is by its nature, fundamental.
One of the characteristics of Objectivism, then, is that it’s a closed system. That seems to irritate those who are BizarrO’s, e.g., the Brandens, Kellys, etc., who’d like nothing better than to claim as their own what Ayn Rand achieved.
You can always tell a BizarrO by the arrogance of their ignorance and the second handedness of their opinions.
To the cold, closed-minded woman: emotional repression is not an indication of objectivity.
