This post brought a smile to my face: not for the content, in which I have only a very slight interest, but for the style.

Colby Cosh is, at his best, one of those rare writers whose prose can bring to life the hallowed memory of H.L. Mencken. Note how many of the classic elements come together in the above-linked piece: the slashing sentences, the air of defiant archaism, the vigorous appreciation of greatness, the amused contempt for the sanctimonious mob.

If Mencken occupies as special a place in your heart as he does in mine, Colby should be on your regular reading list.
