From the Washington Post: Monkeys Control Robotic Arm With Brain Implants

Scientists in North Carolina have built a brain implant that lets monkeys control a robotic arm with their thoughts. The Scientist are predicting the technology could someday allow paralyzed people to operate machines or even move their own arms or legs again.

I think you know what I’m thinking.

how do robots controlled by monkey thoughts allow paralyzed people to operate machinery? Seems kind of silly to me…

Now the monkeys can throw their poo with much greater accuracy.

I think this is a dangerous development. How can we let cyborg monkeys on the island? They’ll be super strong and super smart and end up taking over the island then escaping and running rampant through the world. All the while throwing fruit and poop at us with amazing accuracy and force and we will be powerless to stop them. Someone should tell PETA so they can nip this in the bud and let our dream of fish wielding monkey butlers continue to smolder.

We can’t let them on Chris. This must be stopped. A frozen flounder in the arms of a bionic monkey will be lethal.
