House of Horrors
Wednesday, August 27th, 2003It’s on why we need a privately funded memorial museum to communism similar to the Holocaust Museum in Washington.
On a side note, is anyone else bothered by those (search) tags thrown into the text? Maybe it’s just becuase I don’t like how they break up my own copy. But I’m really not sure why Fox does it.
UPDATE: Pshaw. Two corrections already. Hitler and Nazism killed just under 21 million in his twelve years, not 31 million. And that communism 100 million dead equals almost five times the Nazism number, not nine times. The first mistake was a typo. The second resulted from my looking at a different number when I made the computation. Again with the math.
I sent Fox the corrections. Hopefully they’ll make them before the next dozen or so emails I’ll get pointing out the errors.

Damn, I wish I had thought of that as an idea for a column.
Oh, and as for the (search) tags, they are the primary reason why I don’t read your Fox columns unless the topic really interests me. I can’t stand those tags.
I haven’t heard/read “pshaw” in years. I think it’s due for a comback.
maybe Radley should name his FoxNews column “Pshaw”…
Aren’t Bill and Hillary Clinton communists?
I hate the search links, too. Not sure why they can’t just make the words hyperlinks instead of adding the extra text. Bugs the hell outta me.
I hate the search links as well. Concerning the kids being hip and commie, I have some friends that lean in that direction. I love it when they try and claim that there really hasn’t been a truly communist country.
I think you’ve been reading too many Krugman columns, he’s starting to wear off on you.
Also, I choke with rage every time I see those search tags.
A museum about the atrocities of communism is a great idea. Like the Holocaust museum, images such as the wall of bones (Cambodia) come to mind. But how does one portray the forced starvation of millions of your own citizens. Nevertheless, it should be done, but likely will not come to be, primarily because there are still supporters who suggest that communism simply needs another, better attempt (!!!).
Stalin and Mao alone are responsible for at least 100 million dead. 150 million seems a far more realistic figure and I bet even that is lowballing it.
Amen Radley, amen.
You might have another problem though. Many Jewish groups consider it to be “anti-Semitic” to discuss non-Jewish Genocide events as being “on the same level” as the Jewish/Gypsy Genocide. Trust me, I’ve seen and read it first hand. It’s sickening how many of them want to keep “exclusivity” for themselves by denigrating the pain of others.

The Holocaust of Communism
I agree with this op-ed piece that we need a “museum to memorialize the devastation wrought by communism.” We have an excellent museum memorializing the Nazi Holocaust, but as the author notes: Adolf Hitler (search) has become the embodiment of…
Excellent call to arms. The link to the “victimsofcommunism” site has a typo in it “or” instead of “of”

Nice column, Radley. I’m afraid communism still has so many adherents, however, that your may not come true any time soon. As your article points out, it’s still fashionable in some respected circles, such as academia.
Toshiro –
Yeah, what a bunch of selfish S.O.B’s.
/sarcasm off.
Make it a museum (search) about “totalitarianism” (search) and you can lump (search) together lots of nasty (search) regimes (search).
And I (search) cannot abide (search) those nasty (search) search (search) (search)(search) links (search)
– a former (search) reader (search) of your (search) FOX (search) articles (search)
Why make it about communism? Why not make it about a broader topic: Dictatorships.
As much as I despise communism, there are plenty of examples of non-communist state dictators with blood on their hands.
Not saying it’s a bad idea, I think it’s a great suggestion.
But why not take it a step further?
The only way I’ve found to get them to not put in the (search) tag is to not give them any opportunities to, by providing my own links to anything that looks like they might do it themselves. I’ve been fairly successful in avoiding them in the last two or three columns.
Michael M:
Please go to museumofamnesia.org to find out what I am talking about.
Also remember, we have not even been given a f*cking apology much less compensation. And the KemaloNazi regime in Ankara is still actively denying all of this. And Jewish groups ARE sadly helping them, by pulling strings in Congress to screw us over.
Toshiro, your comments are not worth rational thought. I’ve read your comments before on this blog and you always take it back to the Jews. Is Hitler Youth still around or did some Jew pee in your Cheerios?
I say we recall tags.
And since we’re talking about the tags, can we also address those really distracting ads that appear on the left side of the page??? I hate those WAY worse than the tags!

So any criticism of Jewish activism (or Israel) is now anti-Semitism? That’s a load of bull; I don’t buy that Kristol line, sorry. I think many on this blog would do well to broaden their media consumption past Little Green Footballs and InstaPundit.
I just find it offensive that AIPAC and other Jewish groups have lobbied against recognition for MY extended family’s pain yet they demand total unquestioning acceptance for their genocide. What gives them that right? That is the source of my bitterness towards Jewish-American lobby groups.
Yeah, Toshiro, it’s all a big conspiracy. We’re into everything, everywhere…business, government, you name it…secretly pulling strings of influence to screw the world over. Only a relatively few people in the world (you included) truly recognize what’s going on, and you cannot understand why so many people aren’t paying attention to your warnings.
/sarcasm off.
“So any criticism of Jewish activism (or Israel) is now anti-Semitism? That’s a load of bull”
Gee, I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot recently, but once more, with feeling:
Israel and Jews are not above critisism. But singling them out for your condemnation â?? out of all proportion to the sins of peoples and countries the world over â?? betrays your deeper, true feeling.
Go ahead and respond, and then drop it.
Michael, your overreading my position.
I NEVER once stated that Jews control the media/government/academe/business or whatever. All I did was criticize several major Jewish-American lobbies for their assisting of the fascist TurkoNazi state’s denial of the Christian Holocaust. How would you feel if ANCA or AINA went around promoting Jewish Holocaust denial? Understandably, you would feel quite angry at those lobbies and you would take the initiative in condemning such foul behavior. I would like to debate this without people knocking down strawmen.
And yes, I agree with you about the “singling” out of the Jewish state for criticism, it’s very true. Although 99% of it here in America is motivated by anti-capitalism rather than racism as such, it’s still horrid. Nor do I consider myself a demonizer of Israel nor would I want to be considered as such. But call me basher of Turkey all you want, I don’t shy away from that label!
Vicenary: “A museum about the atrocities of communism is a great idea…. But how does one portray the forced starvation of millions of your own citizens. ”
There’s more to show than just forced starvation; perhaps start with pictures/commentary such as this:

I think Howard Dean is a communist too…..
Actually, I have it from the Highest Authority that Dean is the Anti-christ.
Aren’t all democrats just communists with a different name?
Judging by the comments about Howard Dean and his communist/socialist ideology, maybe he belongs in Canada! For those interested, I’m selling the domain http://www.deanforcanada.com.
