Sneak Preview
Friday, June 13th, 2003I’ll have two pieces running on Tech Central Monday.
The first is a commissioned piece I wrote over my vacation. It’s on Orbitz. Pretty dry subject matter, but it’s a tale about regulation and competition, and how the former often hampers the latter.
The second is a rush job I plan to do this weekend on Greg Packer. I’m completely fascinated by this guy. I’m going to try like hell to get an interview with him. Unfortunately, he’s unlisted. But if any of you live in the Huntington area of Long Island and perchance know a Greg Packer, or how I can get in touch with him, you will let me know, yes?
It’s just a fantastic fucking story, and I’d wager Mr. Packer will be surfing the talk show circuit by the end of next week. The guy has bascially pulled off a rather elaborate ten-year media hoax. And he’s done it brilliantly. And he probably doesn’t even realize he’s done it.
