I must have missed the part of the Constitution that authorizes the spending of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate schoolchildren with fairy tales about America’s selflessness and benevolence.
I did like the part about upholding the vision of our forefathers. I guess I can expect sweeping cuts in government programs and tax rates.
It’s especially creepy that Loyalty Day is the same day as the official Congressionally designated National Day of Prayer.
Seems like maybe they’re taking this “one nation, under God” stuff a little too literally.
I’d like to know exactly what R.B. thinks is “creepy.” I would call that document “smarmy.”
This is a distinction worth making. To my mind Robert Mugabe is “creepy.” If libertarians constantly confuse mild public pietism with uglier phenomena, they’ll never be taken seriously.
It’s also important to note that May 1 is a holiday that is observed in most socialist countries… Seems that if we are going to encourage blind obedience to growing statism, then what day of the year would be more appropriate?
