Supposedly, when he was out to dinner with several of the other writers that were in town and some of the faculty and students that planned the event, he made some comment about how women shouldn't have the right to vote. He then added that "I have three daughters," as though he were allowed to say disparaging things because of course someone with daughters couldn't really mean that.
