Pat Robertson’s al-Qaeda Ties
Sunday, December 29th, 2002According to a new report by European counter-terrorism authorities, Pat Robertson’s diamonds n’ gold investment buddy and brutal Liberian dictator Charles Taylor harbored key al-Qaeda operatives for months after September 11 in exchange for a payment of $1 million. The report also states that Taylor has been hiding al-Qaeda assets in diamonds and precious gems since 1998, an arrangement that bears a striking resemblance to the deals Taylor struck with Robertson.
Lest we forget, it was Robertson and partner-in-prayer Jerry Falwell who blamed gays, abortionists and ACLU-types for invoking the wrath of God and our deserved September 11 punishment.
Putting Robertson aside for a second, I have another question: Here we have a clear paper trail tying a brutal dictator who oppresses, murders and holds hostage his own people to not only harboring al-Qaeda operatives, but actively aiding them in building revenue and laundering money. How is it that Charles Taylor, then, is nowhere on the Bush White House radar, yet we’re amassing our troops as you’re reading this to overthrow Saddam Hussein, a brutal dictator yes, but a guy against whom we have no evidence (at least that the Bushies have decided to share with us) of any al-Qaeda ties whatsoever?
Set aside your natural pro- or anti- war inclinations for a moment. If we’re after the most kill-off-the-biggest-threats-to-us bang for our buck, who, logically, is the better allocation of military resources, Taylor or Hussein?
Hell, you could conceivably make a stronger argument connecting the 700 Club to al-Qaeda than you could connecting Hussein.

Agreement On US $3.2 Billion Gas Pipeline Project Signed
ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan: Dec 28 (PNS) – Pakistan, Afghanistan and
Turkmenistan on Friday signed here a framework agreement for a US $3.2
billion gas pipeline project passing through the three countries.
The ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace with the three leaders,
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, President Saparmurat Niyazov of
Turkmenistan and Afghan President Hamid Karzai signing the document.
The framework agreement defines legal mechanism for setting up a consortium
to build and operate the pipeline.
According to a study by Asian Development Bank (ADB), the 1460 km pipeline
would use gas reserves at Dauletabad fields in Turkmenistan, which has
world’s fifth largest reserves, while passing through Afghanistan into
Pakistan.
The three countries had earlier signed a trilateral agreement to develop a
natural gas and oil pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan into
Pakistan in May this year, during the first trilateral summit in Islamabad.
The three countries are laying great importance on the project as it could
provide much needed boost to their economies.

As for the Turk pipeline, that agreement was made with China and Japan. UNOCAL is out of the equation.

personally as a christian i have always been extremely caution of robertson falwell and their ilk…its sad that they cannot see themselves as they truely are, modern day pharisees…it makes me truely sick…God Bless The Poor, and Punish The False Prophets..

Robertson was also a fund-raiser for the Committee for Afghan Action which helped the Mujahideen which later became Al Qaeda and the Taliban. He justified the 9/11 attacks and he had a link to a dictator who supported Al Qaeda.
