Mixed Emotions
Monday, September 9th, 2002So I was all excited about this. Then I saw this.
If the Colts move to L.A., it’s over. I’ll never watch the NFL again. OK. That’s not true. I just experienced my first “DirectTV” weekend. Ten games on at once. I couldn’t stop watching football games to save my life.
But I’ll be really, really angry while I’m watching it.

You managed to live without the DirecTV Football Package? How?
The SD Chargers are still the front-runners in the move to LA race. They have the opportunity to pull the plug on their contract in December if the city of SD doesn’t bend over for them (and the voters here aren’t likely to let it happen).
Don’t worry, The Irsays would never pack up in the middle of the night and move their football team to another city. Oh wait…
Actually any NFL team that thinks they will get better support in LA than where they are now is dreaming. LA is not a football town regardless of what the TV networks want to believe.
But just in case, Oakland, St. Louis, Phoenix, Baltimore, Memphis and Indianapolis had better keep a close eye on their beloved teams. Their owners have proven at least once already that the promise of greener pastures is worth more than the hearts of their loyal fans.
!!!! How about them Texans !!!!!
