The Supreme Court decision on random drug tests of high school students is a serious blow to freedoms and privacy. What’s next, if you walk on a public sidewalk you get drug tested? This is total bullshit.

I agree. But this one was pretty easy. The Supreme Court set the stage for student drug tests with New Jersey v. TLO, a search and seizure case that gave schools power to act in loco parentis, that is, in the stead of parents. Basically, students in schools are not permitted to assert the same rights citizens can assert against the state. So, yes, I disagree with the decision. But it is consistent with precedent, and no, I don’t think it’ll lead to sidewalk drug tests.
