Speaking of Hoosiers, it seems that White House media man Ari Fleischer has plucked a corn-fed, born and bred Hoosier to be his wife. Not only that, she’s from my home town. And we sat through many a homily together at Greenfield’s St. Michael’s church! Fleischer was recnetly engaged to Secina High grad and Indiana native Becki Davis, who came to Washington to work in the budget office under Indianapolis’ Mitch Daniels. Puts an end to the talk that the D.C. area’s most eligible bachelor (after yours truly, of course) was “looking for a nice Jewish girl.”

And, guy to guy, let me say — well done, Ari. If memory serves, Davis is positively stunning.
