Ever wonder why, when Republicans propose a tax cut, the wealthiest segments of the population always get the brunt of the break? Is it because Republicans are patsies for the fat cats who fill their campaign coffers? Um, sure.

No, it’s because, duh, rich people pay most of the taxes. And, in fact, the disproportionate distribution of the tax burden is only getting bigger. Last year, the bottom 50% of income earners paid just 4% of taxes. The top 1%, on the other hand paid more than a third.

So when Republicans offer an across-the-board tax cut, who do you think is going to benefit most? Obviously, the people who pay most of the taxes.

But facts have never stood in the way of Democrat demagoguery.
